The center project
The sun warmed my skin as I watched Daniel, a vision in the golden light, laughing with friends on the beach; I knew, in that instant, I was falling for him, a feeling that affirmed my own gay identity. Even though I was still navigating my closeted self, Daniel's open joy and acceptance of everyone around him ignited a spark, a hope that maybe someday I too could live authentically in the world of LGBT love. Our eyes met, and his smile felt like a promise of a future I hadn’t dared dream of before, a life where I wouldn't have to hide who I was, and with him, I wanted that future more than anything. The Center Project is sustained by the generous donations of individuals and local organizations.
